NYC Neo-Noir Theatre: The New Bohemia

by SoHo Journal Staff

It surely has been a fantastic three years of culminating great victories for The New Bohemia. This downtown rooted musical has grown up garnering much media attention and applause along the way from Elle Magazine, The New York Times, Entertainment Weekly and CNN to fashions’ elite such as Zac Posen and Jeremy Scott. The troupe has been sought after by A list galas as Piaget, The Hamptons Film Festival and for such prestigious charities as Lenox Hill Hospital.

“There are no words to describe how it feels when dreams come true” says Patrick Bonomo of his current theatrical project. What began as a private corporate event planning business between NYC and the Hamptons’ expanded into an entertainment production company. As Creative Producer, Patrick Bonomo began collaborating with nightclubs, cabarets and high profile private clients throughout the city. The New Bohemia showcases the sensational talent culled from his journeys across Manhattan’s Lower East Side, The Village and from his roots in Williamsburg Brooklyn. In essence creating an urban play framed by a spirited message which looks into the back-story and passions of those who dream to be.

The show, which has been showcased in NYC and Philadelphia to sold-out audiences, is destined to become a movement. This gutsy theater troupe unleashes the breathtaking, bittersweet subconscious of NYC’s performance art scene under Bonomo’s eye and Dramaturge Kate Rigg’s hand. The New Bohemia proudly takes the burlesque revival and silver screen glamour along with the art of Noir Theater to the streets as these artistes search for redemption in the avant garde cyber pop world of 2want2: The New Bohemia. Guild Hall on August 6 and August 7 at 8 PM for reservations/tickets call the Guild Hall Box Office at 631-324-4050 or Theatermania.com at 1-866-811-4111.
